SHIPPING & DELIVERY POLICY

Last Updated: 11/05/2026

At Pitso Works, we believe knowledge should have no borders. Whether you are ordering a foundational text from Pitso Publications or physical materials for our Learning Labs, we are committed to getting your resources to you across the continent.

1. Our Shipping Partners

To ensure your books arrive safely and can be tracked in real-time, we partner with industry-leading couriers:

  • The Courier Guy: Our primary partner for reliable, door-to-door delivery within South Africa.

  • Aramex: Utilised for both local "Store-to-Door" services and efficient regional African shipping.

  • PostNet Global Express: Our specialised partner for international and cross-border African logistics.

2. Shipping Rates & Weight-Based Pricing
In the interest of fairness and transparency, Pitso Works does not charge a flat shipping fee.

  • Strictly Weight-Based: Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on the total weight of your order and your specific delivery zone.

  • Consolidated Shipping: If you are ordering multiple books for a Learning Labs cohort, we recommend a single bulk order to optimise weight-based costs.

3. Estimated Delivery Timelines

  • South Africa (Major Centers)

  • South Africa (Regional/Rural)

  • SADC Region

  • Rest of Africa (EAC/ECOWAS)

4. Customs, Duties, and AfCFTA Benefits

  • HS Code 4901: All shipments are classified as Printed Books.

  • Cross-Border Trade: Under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), most printed books qualify for 0% import duties within participating member states.

  • Clearing Fees: While duties are often zero, please note that local Customs Clearing Fees or handling levies imposed by your country's authorities remain the responsibility of the recipient.

5. Load-Shedding & Logistical Contingencies
We understand the unique challenges of our operating environment.

  • Infrastructure: While our partners are resilient, localised power-cuts (load-shedding) may occasionally impact courier sorting hubs. We will notify you via email if we anticipate a delay exceeding 48 hours.

  • Mobile Tracking: All our partners provide mobile-friendly tracking links, optimised for users accessing information via mobile data.

6. No Physical Collection
Please note that Pitso Works is a digital-first organisation. To maintain operational efficiency, we do not offer a physical collection/pick-up point at our offices. All orders must be delivered via our authorised courier partners.
