At Pitso Works, your privacy is as important to us as the knowledge we share. We are a South African-based business, and we are committed to processing your personal information in strict accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).


1. What Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to serve you across our three wings:

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, and phone number for delivery and webinar registration.

  • Logistics Data: Physical delivery address (shared only with our couriers: The Courier Guy, Aramex, and PostNet).

  • Technical Metadata: IP addresses and device info, captured automatically during your interaction with our website and Google Meet sessions.

 

2. Google Workspace & Data Processing
We utilise Google Workspace to power our operations.

  • Data Processing: All data stored or processed via our Google-hosted services is governed by the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum (CDPA). This ensures that your information is encrypted, secure, and handled according to global best practices.

  • Google Meet: When you join a Learning Lab or Innovation Hub session, Google Meet captures your display name, email (if logged in), and video/audio stream. These recordings are processed by Google’s secure servers and are accessed only by authorised Pitso Works staff for session delivery and quality assurance.

 

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Delivery: Fulfilling physical orders for Pitso Publications.

  • Service Delivery: Sending meeting links, reminders, and post-session materials for our Learning Labs.

  • Communication: Sending newsletters or updates only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails.

 

4. Data Sharing & Cross-Border Transfers

  • Third Parties: We do not sell your data. We only share it with trusted partners necessary to fulfil your request (e.g., our couriers).

  • Cross-Border: If we transfer data outside of South Africa to support your learning experience (e.g., via Google Cloud’s international server infrastructure), we ensure the recipient is subject to laws or agreements that provide an adequate level of protection, aligning with the Malabo Convention standards for African digital trade

 

5. Your Rights (POPIA)
Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correction: Request that we fix any inaccurate information.

  • Deletion: Request that we delete your data (the "Right to be Forgotten"), provided it does not conflict with our legal obligation to keep tax or transaction records.

 

6. Security Measures
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including password-protected access to our Google Workspace and secure, encrypted communication channels.
