About the Course

Every organisation has its own rhythm, its own language, and its own unique way of looking after its people. Standard human resource information systems often overlook these nuances, burying managers in complex interfaces that create unnecessary friction between leadership and teams.

This course empowers People Managers to step into the role of workplace architects. Over three days, you will transition from a consumer of software to a creator of custom internal tools. By leveraging the no-code capabilities of Base44, you will construct intuitive, highly functional applications that support internal mobility, wellness tracking, or feedback loops—proving that digital transformation is most powerful when it is locally designed and humanly felt.

1. Who This Course Is For (Prerequisites & Required Skills)

Designed for HR Professionals, Wellness Officers, and Operations Managers who find generic, off-the-shelf HR software restrictive, and want to build their own bespoke internal tools for mobility tracking, employee feedback loops, or onboarding workflows.

Prerequisites & Required Skills: This is a strict no-code curriculum, meaning zero programming knowledge is needed. Learners should possess strong system-thinking skills, a clear understanding of the step-by-step employee journeys within their company, and basic familiarity with how information flows between departments.

Technical Requirements:

  • Requires a personal computer (laptop or desktop) with a stable, reliable internet connection.

  • Participants will be provisioned with a secure, dedicated Base44 developer sandbox environment on Day 1. There is no requirement to purchase external software or platform licenses to fully participate in and complete the practical lab modules.

2. What We Will Co-Create (Learning Outcomes)

  • Technical Mastery: Architect operational databases, user interfaces, and custom notification systems within the Base44 platform without writing a line of code.

  • Ethical & Creative Application: Formulate accessible user experiences (UX) that ensure inclusivity, dignity, and intuitive navigation for all tiers of staff.

3. Important to Note: Data Security & Corporate Governance

Learners will build their applications using entirely simulated, randomised datasets (e.g., fictional team members and sample resource metrics) rather than live company operational records. For organisations sponsoring their employees, this approach ensures that your internal system data, operational bottlenecks, and proprietary workflow architectures are completely protected, remaining completely insulated from the peer-to-peer review boards and public showcases.

The Curriculum Architecture (Syllabus & Modules)

Module 1: Blueprinting the Workplace Experience

  • The Intent: Map out the relational data structures and user journeys required for an inclusive HR app.

  • Lesson 1.1: Data with Dignity: Mapping Employee Journeys and Base44 Collections (Hands-on Blueprint)

  • Lesson 1.2: Accessibility First: Designing Interfaces for Diverse Teams (Ethical Framework)

  • Community Catalyst: The Architecture Circle: Post your app’s wireframe or entity relationship sketch. Critique a peer’s user flow specifically focusing on reducing user friction and administrative steps.

Module 2: Assembling the Operational Engine

  • The Intent: Construct your functional interface and establish internal operational flows within Base44.

  • Lesson 2.1: Building the Core: Interface Assembly and Component Binding (Hands-on Lab)

  • Lesson 2.2: Collaborative Feedback: Designing Respectful Evaluation Portals (Case Study)

  • Community Catalyst: The UX Sandbox: Share a screen-recording or functional preview link of your interface. Gather peer feedback on navigation clarity and layout balance.

Module 3: Deployment, optimisation & Special Recognition

  • The Intent: Polish your application's user experience, implement final feedback, and submit for grading.

  • Lesson 3.1: The Polished Portal: UX Refinement and Final Verification (Hands-on Lab)
